Habitat Restoration at MLK Shoreline (Oakland)
June 22 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Come join us and help care for the MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline, the crucial transition zone between San Leandro Bay and our East Oakland communities. Pulling trash and invasive species helps the native plants our volunteers put in over the winter establish themselves and restore this habitat to a more biodiverse and sea level rise resilient state!
Please dress according to the weather, bring a water bottle and a snack. Gloves, hand picks, foam kneepads and/or other necessary tools will be provided. Volunteer activities can involve bending, lifting and walking over uneven terrain. Programs may be cancelled in the event of heavy winds, poor air quality and/or lightning. Save The Bay strives to include volunteers of all abilities in our programs. If you have specific access needs, please reach out to hlim@savesfbay.org to coordinate.
