QTPOC Sunset on the Shoreline Pride Event (Oakland)

June 27 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Save The Bay, QTPOC Birders (@qtpocbirders), and Ser of @flora.pacha for a special QTPOC Affinity Sunset Event at Save The Bay’s native plant nursery on the MLK Shoreline in East Oakland! This event is an affinity space for folks that identify as Queer/ Trans and People of Color with the intention of building community and celebrating Pride month. We’ll start the evening at 5:30pm with a bird walk led by QTPOC Birders and then transition to a native plant nursery tour and stewardship activity before closing with a conversation on Queer Ecology led by Ser while sipping herbal tea from their farm as the sunsets over the Bay. Light snacks will be provided. Folks should come dressed for the weather.
Accessibility Info: The bird walk will take place along a paved trail adjacent to the shoreline of the Bay connected to a paved parking area. The second portion of the event will take place within Save The Bay’s native plant nursery which is located about 100 feet from the paved trail within an area enclosed by a chain link fence. The nursery floor is gravel and there is a slight grassy slope leading up to the nursery space. If you have any access questions please reach out to the Nursery Manager, Millie Calzada, at mcalzada@savesfbay.org .
