MLK Shoreline Cleanup & Nursery Work (Oakland)
August 19 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Help protect San Francisco Bay and spend time out on the MLK Jr. Regional Shoreline! The Arroyo Viejo Creek and Lion Creek watersheds both run into the bay through Damon Slough, carrying a lot of trash along the way. The salt marshes in the area catch a lot of these pollutants and we can stop them from causing harm in the bay by pulling them out. This is also the time of year when our 40,000 native plants are growing in their pots. We will spend some time exploring the nursery and scrubbing pots to keep our plants’ temporary pot homes free of disease so our plants can thrive. Save The Bay strives to include volunteers of all abilities in our programs. If you have specific access needs please reach out to email@example.com to coordinate.
