MLK Day of Service
January 13, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Come celebrate the MLK Day of Service by joining us on the MLK shoreline at Garretson Point. With rainy season come two big elements of our habitat restoration team’s work: planting & shoreline cleanup. And you can help! As rain washes through our watersheds, it brings trash down into the Bay. We will spend part of this day cleaning up that trash and making sure it is disposed of properly. The rainy season also waters our native plants and keeps them happy. We will install hundreds of native plants along the shoreline so they can enjoy the rain! These plants will be helping us restore shoreline into healthy salt marsh habitat, giving wildlife good homes and our communities natural sea level rise protection! Please dress according to the weather (programs are rain or shine) and bring a water bottle. Gloves and tools will be provided. Save The Bay strives to include volunteers of all abilities in our programs. If you have specific access needs, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate.
