Leaving a legacy gift is one of the most impactful ways you can make a difference. Save The Bay’s Legacy Society is a dedicated community that includes many of our founding members. By including a gift in your estate plan, you are joining this group of environmental pioneers and helping ensure a clean and healthy Bay for generations to come.

About our Legacy Society

Save The Bay’s Legacy Society includes many of our Founding Members, who have been with us over our 60+ years. By including a gift in your estate plan, you are joining this group of environmental pioneers and helping ensure a clean and healthy Bay for generations to come.

As a member of our community of dedicated Legacy Society members you will be invited to enjoy special events and virtual gatherings, and you will receive personal communications about our work and opportunities to engage with Save The Bay throughout the year.

Options for Legacy Giving

  • Through a Will or Trust

    Through a Will or Trust

    This is one of the most common types of legacy gifts. You can arrange to leave Save The Bay a specific dollar amount or asset, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after specific gifts to loved ones have been made. 

  • Retirement Plans, Donor-Advised Fund or Other Accounts

    Retirement Plans, Donor-Advised Fund or Other Accounts

    You can name Save The Bay as the beneficiary of your individual retirement account (IRA), 401(k), 403(b), donor-advised fund (DAF), life insurance policy or other account. These gifts are easy to arrange or modify. Simply complete a beneficiary designation form from your plan administrator to name Save The Bay as a beneficiary of all or part of your account. If the retirement assets are tax-deferred, the portion left to Save The Bay will not be subject to tax.
