Bay Saver Spotlight: Circlepoint

Over the past few years, Save The Bay has had the good fortune to partner with Circlepoint, a woman-owned business, based in Oakland with additional offices in San Jose and Orange. Our partnership began when we transformed Bay Day into the virtual Bay Day Challenge during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, our collaboration has grown, and this year they helped us launch our Turn The Tide fundraising campaign. Together, we’ve been able to reach new audiences and engage our communities in rising to the climate challenge.

Since 1987, Circlepoint has been a guiding force in helping clients address complex issues and strengthen communities. Its communications and environmental practice areas offer a dynamic combination of strategic advice and targeted service. Like Save The Bay, Circlepoint was founded by an innovative woman who was passionate about our environment and communities. Through her eclectic background – planning director, facilitator, and environmental professional – Kay Wilson saw the need for integrated environmental and communication services.

Over the years, Circlepoint has connected dozens of communities to the projects that affect them. They have helped partners like Save The Bay educate audiences across multiple market sectors, complete hundreds of environmental documents, strengthen agency relationships with the public through innovative marketing and branding, and navigate the ever-changing landscape of communications and public outreach.

In addition to working with Save The Bay, Circlepoint has supported land use, transportation and sustainability projects throughout California. This September, Circlepoint helped Caltrain launch its electric service with community festivals and celebrations throughout the corridor. After 160 years of train travel between San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties, Caltrain has undergone a historic transformation.

As the first diesel-to-electric conversion of its kind in a generation, it is laying the foundation for additional growth that will benefit Bay Area communities for generations. Caltrain Electrification provides faster, more frequent service and numerous environmental benefits. The trains produce substantially less corridor air pollution compared with diesel trains, helping meet California’s emission reduction goals, and increased ridership will reduce automobile usage, resulting in additional air quality benefit.

Circlepoint’s expertise has made them a valued partner in advancing projects that benefit the Bay Area and beyond. We’re proud to work alongside them to inspire action and create lasting change for our environment.
