We are excited to announce OLO – Outdoor Learning Online, a new education portal that will offer hands-on science lessons for remote learning environments. This online outdoor education portal will provide resources for teachers, students and parents has been a dream of ours for a long time. We can’t wait to launch it in September! But before we launch, we need your help. During the month of August, our goal is to raise $25,000 for OLO – Outdoor Learning Online, our new education portal. Your gift will advance our mission and inspire the next generation of Bay Stewards. After months of hard work, our Education Team has developed fun and engaging K-12 lessons that align with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and California Common Core. The themes in the portal will be:
- Ecology & Biodiversity
- Watershed Science
- SF Bay History & Geology
- Wetland Focused Creative Expression
- Climate Change
Our long-term goal is to build a robust education portal that includes pre- and post-programmatic materials for lessons. These materials will support classrooms, home schools and other diverse and distant learning environments.
With the uncertainty of the upcoming school year due to the current health crisis, we wanted to find a way to connect students to the San Francisco Bay. Unfortunately, students won’t be coming to the shoreline this year but OLO – Outdoor Learning Online will bring students unique experiences that build appreciation and respect for nature. It will teach and inspire the next generation of Bay Stewards! Support local Bay Area Students, Teachers and Parents today!
