Thank you for registering, Save The Bay is excited that you will be joining us! Volunteers like yourself are an integral part of our habitat restoration work and we thank you for your time. Our restoration activities are easy to learn and there is no experience required. For a preview of what activities might occur on your program, see the helpful seasonal guide below:

Spring: Weeding invasives, tending to recently planted native seedlings at restoration sites
Summer: Weeding invasives at restoration sites; Transplanting at nurseries
Fall: Weeding invasives at restoration sites
Winter: Planting native seedlings at restoration site; Maintenance
at nurseries

Directions

We often have multiple meeting locations within each site, and your specific meeting location will be determined two weeks prior to the event. Directions and GPS points will be provided as our sites do not have physical addresses.

What Should I Bring and Wear?

Be prepared to be outdoors for three hours. We recommend that you do not bring any valuables, and do not plan to leave valuables in your car.

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are required
  • Dress in layers. Long pants are recommended
  • Sun protection, such as a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
  • Full reusable water bottle

If You Signed Up As a Group

Once you receive the directions and confirmation email, please respond confirming the number of volunteers in your group. Additionally, all members of your group will need to sign in individually at the start of the program; for this reason, please arrive 15 minutes early.

Cancellation

Your attendance is critical in our success to complete our habitat restoration work. If you do not show up it takes a spot from someone on our waitlist who can participate. If you or your group need to cancel, please email bayevents@savesfbay.org with the following subject line:

“Cancel (Date of Program, Last Name, # of volunteers in your group)”
Example: Cancel (3/28/18, Smith, 4)

Weather Cancellation

We will still run programs in a light rain and will provide ponchos for volunteers. High winds or thunderstorms may force us to cancel a program. If your program is canceled, you will be contacted via the phone number provided through your online registration.
